Hi all,

I have recently heard about the braille pronto. It's not very popular in the United states, but it is very in Germany, I guess.

Anyone on here ever use one before? Would be very curious about your thoughts!

I never used one but I had friends who did. It's a german machine produced by Baum. Braille quolity was very good and it was a very reliable machine. I think it was a great machine in its time!

For the record, you know it's still out, right?

I heard they were supposed to be updating it soon, to the current note-taker operating system of most, windows ce 6. But I'm not sure that has happened yet.

Yes I know it is still out. But for the price, it is not very good in my opinion compared the options. But as I said I never had Baum products allthough they are good and durable. But for example I heard that their new Super vario Braille displays brake down much more than the previous Varios. I heard the old ones were like tanks, could work years and years without a single problem. I think market decides on the quolity of materials in the production of devices!

Yeah, I have heard the same. I also have the same opinion as you, that for the price, it's not worth it. I can get a 18 cell u2 that does more, for 1000 dollars cheaper. It's quite sad, really.
